Gyan Prakash comes from a remote village in UP state. His father is a poor dalit farmer and earned little to provide for the needs of the family. Gyan was enrolled in Roshini Home, Akbarpur in the year 2007. At Roshini Home along with Educational helps he was provided with decent stay, nutritious food, basic clothing, medication and career guidance. After his 12th grade, Gyan did his B. Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Machilipatnam Engineering college.
At present Gyan Prakash is working as an Engineer in Lucknow. He is married and lives a decent living. His ambition is to help at least a few children in need, just like he was helped.
Farzana Karthon belongs to a very poor minority Muslim family. Her parents work as construction & beedi rolling laborers, and earn very little to afford for basic needs of the family. Education is a luxury in the community and girls are married away very young. Farzana always wanted to get educated and live a decent living. She was enrolled at the Roshini Girls Home, Jhansi in the year 2009 where she was provided with free education, nutritious food, decent stay and career guidance.
Through the support of Nava Kanthi she successfully completed her Graduation in Nursing Course in MP State and working as a Nurse. She wants to help the poor and needy with medical helps.
Glory Kumar is basically from Odisha. Her father left the family when she was a child. Her mother due to poverty got her enrolled at Nava Kanthi Roshini Girls Home in Jhansi.

She was sent to a good English medium school/college along with other Home children. Glory completed MBA Finance from a reputed college in Hyderabad and is working with a bank.
Arun Kumar comes from a very poor family in Kanpur Rural District, UP State. His father works as a security guard and earns little to support the family. Arun was enrolled at Nava Kanthi Roshini Home, Akbarpur.
He was sent to a good school and a reputed Engineering College in Lucknow. After his education Arun is presently working at a large spinning mill in Hyderabad as an Engineer and helping his family financially.
Mercy Nanda is basically from Odisha. Her father sold her and left the family when she was a child. Her mother with the help of administration was able to rescue her and due to poverty got her enrolled at Nava Kanthi Roshini Girls Home in Jhansi.

She was sent to a good English medium school/college along with other Home children. Mercy completed her Graduate in Nursing from a reputed college in MP State and is working as a nurse earning a decent salary. She serves the patients with acute care and kindness.
Kalpana comes from a remote village in UP state. Her father is a cycle mechanic and earns little to support children education. Kalpana was enrolled at the Roshini Girls Children Home in 2006.

Aarthi Kushwaha belongs to a conservative family where girls are not allowed to continue studies after primary education. Her parents showed interest in educating their daughter inspite of their proverty and customary values. Aarti was enrolled at the Roshini Girls Home, Jhansi in the year 2005.
Nava Kanthi supported and encouraged her to get education in an english medium school, provided for all her basic needs like food, clothing, shelter & medication. She has an ambition to become a doctor. She scored above 85% in +12 from a residential college in AP State. As she could not get a seat in MBBS, she opted to do B Sc (Food and Nutrition). She completed M sc (Foof and Nutrition) and working in Andra Pradesh. She wants to do Phd in nutrition and help the malnourished women & children.

Rakesh is now doing his bachelors degree in commerce from Kanpur and is hoping to join a banking establishment.
Manoj comes from a remote village where there is only one elementary school, for further studies the children have to walk or ride bicycle more than 12 km. There is no facility of transportation. Manoj was enrolled at Roshini Home, Akbarpur in year 2006, this enabled him to continue his studies, stay in a decent place, get nutritious food, medication and educational help.
Now Manoj is doing his graduation in Political science and economics. He strives to be a Police officer and serve the people.
Akash was enrolled at Roshini Home, Akbarpur when he was studying in eighth grade. His father was a drunkard and his mother an housewife.His family included 4 brothers and 3 sisters.His mother was not able to educate the children and provide them food. Sometimes it was difficult to even get a one time meal. There was always arguments and fight between the parents.
After joining Roshini Home in 2006, Akash was able to get basic needs and he also showed interest in playing musical instruments. He learnt playing drums and guitar. Akash successfully completed his intermediate and aspire to become a Mechanical Engineer. He got admission in Datia Engineering College.
Shashi Raj is an intelligent boy and is very good at art.Shashi Raj belong to a remote village in Bihar. His father works as a labourer and mother an housewife. The earning of his father was just sufficient to meet family basic needs. His paents could not afford to pay his school fees.
Nava Kanthi society extended its support for Shashi Raj's education and enrolled him in Roshini Home in the year 2010. Shashi Raj became a studious person and soon became an inspiration for other children at Roshini Home. He passed his 12th exams in distinction and is pursuing his studies in engineering in Lucknow.
