VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS
Nava Kanthi started Skill Development and Vocational training programs mainly for youth and women to upgrade their skills and to be able to support their family finacially.
Presently Nava Kanthi training centers at 65 places helping about 900 youth and women per year. Through these centres more than 4000 women and youth have been trained in skills like AC Technician, Electrician, Welding, Typewriting,Computer Basics, embroidery, tailoring, basket making, sewing, knitting and other craftworks. Most of the trainees are employed/ able to start business and generate income for their families and communities.
Many women who got trained through these centres were able to get financial aid from Government to start-up tailoring business .Vocational training includes following fields :
Computer Training
| The Computer Centre was started when one of our donors who wanted to help the poor students donated 2 computers for the centre.

This facility is a blessing for the poor and needy college students who cannot pay the high fees in other centers to acquire working knowledge and certification in computer applications. At present DCA, DTP training are given. So far more than 1000 young men and women were trained at this center. |

Sewing
| Sewing, Embroidery, tailoring, basket making, woolen (Knitting) work and other craftwork are taught. At the same time the ladies are encouraged and taught the importance of saving small amounts for future along with value education. |

| Women who attend the classes and save regularly for one year were able to pay 50% of the sewing machine cost. The society raised the other 50% of the machine cost amount from potential donors. While graduating they receive a Sewing Machine along with a merit certificate. |  |

More than 600 women and school dropout girls have been trained in tailoring and are helping their families financially. |
At present 60 Sewing Centres are operating in various places of Andhra Pradesh,Madhya Pradesh,Uttar Pradesh, Harayana states and Bihar.

Type Writing Training
This center imparts Type writing training for students to get certification. Training is given in English and Telugu languages. More than 250 poor college going boys and girls were trained. Many more are eager to join, but lack of enough machines is the cause to force the students to join in the next batches. We are looking forward for donors to buy more type writing machines. |

Self Help Training
Periodic training were conducted in manufacture of pickles, Candle making, Detergent, phenol, etc for training needy people with a skill to earn their livelihood.
